Welcome to the vigil homepage!

the vigil is an independent feature film about a group of young
people who drive from Lethbridge, Alberta to Seattle for Kurt Cobain's 1994
vigil. The film had its world premiere at the 1998 Vancouver International
Film Festival. Our cast and crew worked very hard to tell this story as
honestly as possible and we're thrilled that people have been able to see
result of their work.

Fall 2000

Friends,

The Vigil was released across Canada on September 5, 2000 through our distributor, First Rites, and it is now available at all 235 Rogers Video stores in Canada. It is almost five years to the day from when I sat down and began working on the story. In that time, I always believed there would be a chance to get the film to the people who would enjoy it the most.

Originally, we planned to make it available through the internet (and we will probably still do so for our European supporters in the months ahead). However, I think the unique profit-sharing First Rites program is a great way for some of you to see the film.

The Vigil will be available in the United States in the next few months, and in Australia and New Zealand by Christmas. Or so we hope!

Once again, thank you to everyone who has written to us. We look forward to hearing from more of you in the future. In the meantime, enjoy the film!
